Abstract

The article, based on the author's doctoral thesis (The revelation in René Girard's anthropology: from mythology to eschatology, defended in 2019 at PUC / SP), has the mimetic theory, formulated by René Girard through the anthropological historical method, as the basis of a general theory of the human bathed more and more by apocalyptic hope. The sacred mix with evolution, humanity is the daughter of religion. This article presents divine revelation according to mimetic theory, moving from the sacred archaic violent to Judeo-Christian revelation. It emphasizes the centrality of Jesus' passion and resurrection as self-communication of the intimate face of God and man. Finally, it opens up to the eschatological hope in which full realization of existence and liberation from mimetic sin will take place.
